Meeting sounds of Portugal...

Music is one of the most important reflections of the national character. If you want to create the realistic image of the culture, you need to get familiar with its melodies. I do not mean that in order to know country you have to spend hours and hours exploring the priceless musical heritage of that land or the variety of different music styles. No.. For starters, I think it is enought to discover few performers or just enjoyable melodies, which managed to atract your atention and thatway became the asociation with that coutry. So, I will present my way of getting familair with portugal sounds..
The first song, which atracted my attention to the portugal music was this year Eurovision song contest Portugal representatives‘ song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IgqlktzsUs&feature=related) . After I heard it for the first time, it stayed in my mind huming for a couple of days. It was such a light and easy melody, which insensibly raises your mood. Somehow it seems to me like a perfect gleam of Portuguese lifestyle. Sunny feeling, smiles, worm communion and optimistical atitude to life – that is the essence of my vision of the portuguese people and that song is an ecxellent illustration of it.

However, I realise that one and only melody cannot represent the whole portret of the nation. It would be naive to think about Portugal as the miricle country of endless happiness . That kind of atitude would be just a shallow one . So, the next stop of my familiarity trip was related with one of the famous portuguese singers – Mariza. She is the beutiful representative of the modern national style of music not just in Portugal but also worldwidely . I believe that exactly national music is the perfect reflex of the national character. And Mariza‘s work is even more atractive, because it brings past and nowadays experience together .
After listening to some of her songs , I could realise how spiritual and sensual they are. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cKv6EHNOTk) It is a shame, that portugues language not nearly is an easy bit to me, so usually it stays a secret for me what exactly the words of every song is trying to say. Nevertheless I managed to creat an impression that theese songs keeps in themselves the power of deep experiences . Fado songs are typically lyrically harsh, with the singer resigned to sadness, poverty and loneliness, but remaining dignified and firmly controlled. Also , It is said that those melodies are the songs of whose who retain and cherish their illusions, not of those who have irretrievably lost them. And Mariza manages to convey all those emotions energeticaly through her voice to people Herewith she reveals the wealth of emotions of portugues people. Well, my journey through the layers of portugal musical wealth has just begun. But I have to admit that I am already very anxious to discover every new and close to my heart melody.. I believe that they will enhance the will to speak portuguese and sence the soul of Portugal oneself.

Pažinti Portugalijos garsus...

Muzika – tai vienas iš tautos charakterio atspindžių. Norėdamas susikurti įspūdį apie kokią nors šalį negali apsieiti nesusipažinęs su jos melodijom. Nesakau, jog sekant šia mintimi kaskart, norint pažinti šalį reikia valandų valandas praleisti bestudijuojant jos muzikini paveldą , istorijos raidos vingius ir gilintis į stilių įvairovę. Manau, išties pakanka rasti bent keletą atlikėjų, ar tiesiog širdžiai artimų melodijų, kurios atkreiptų dėmesį ir taptų malonia asociacija su šia šalimi.

Pirmoji daina, atkreipusi mano dėmesį į portugalų muziką tikriausiai buvo šių metų Eurovizijos konkurse dalyvavusiu šios šalies atstovų kūrinėlis. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IgqlktzsUs&feature=related)Pirmąkart nugirdus, ši daina dar porą dienų skambėjo mano galvoje. Tokia lengva muzikali melodija, kuri nejučia kelia nuotaiką... Kažkodėl ji man pasirodė kaip puikus portugališko gyvenimo simbolis. Saulėta nuotaika, šypsenos, šiltas bendravimas ir optimizmo gaidos balse – toks portugalų tautos vaizdinys įsitvirtino mano galvoje, o ši melodija puikia jį iliustruoja.

Tačiau suprantu, jog viena melodija negali savyje sutalpinti visos tautos portreto savyje. Būtų naivu manyti, kad Portugalija yra tarytum kokia stebuklų šalis, kurioje visi žmonės visada laimingi ir amžinai šypsosi. Toks įspūdis liktų tik paviršutinišku . Taigi kita mano pažinties stotelė buvo susijusi su viena garsiausių Portugalijos daininkių Mariza‘os kūryba. Mariza dainuoja sumodernintu tautiniu fado stiliumi. Ir ne vienas sutiksite, jog butent tradicinė muzika kaip niekas kitas puikiai atspindi pačios tautos charakterį. O Marizos kūryba turėtų būti dar ypatingesnė, nes priartina tradicijas prie šių dienu- šiuolaikinio portugalo paveikslo.
Išklausiusi keletą jos dainų, pajutau, kokios neįprastai jausmingos jos yra. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cKv6EHNOTk) Tiesa, pati portugalų kalba man vis dar toli gražu nėra paprastai įkandama, todėl man telieka spėlioti, ką dainų žodžiais norima pasakyti. Tačiau visgi susidariau įspūdį, kad šios dainos savyje talpina gilią išgyvenimų galią – meilę, liūdesį, net skausmą.. O Marizai puikiai pavyksta šias emocijas energetiškai perteikti klausytojams savo balsu. Ir tuo pačiu atskleisti, kokie emociškai turtingi yra Portugalijos žmonės. Na, mano pažintis su portugalų muzikos klodais dar tik prasidėjo. Ir turiu pripažinti, kad jau nekantrauju atrasti naujų įvairių, širdžiai artimų melodijų bei dainų... Tikiu, jog jos turėtų dar labiau sustiprinti norą pačiai prabilti portugališkai ir pajusti Portugalijos sielą šalia.
