Beatriz Batarda – is a Portuguese actress. She was born in London and has lived in Lisbon since her childhood. No matter where she acts in Lisbon's Cornucópia Company or at the National Theatre she does it perfectly. In 2000, Batarda graduated London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and got an honours degree in acting. She was awarded a gold medal for "Best Actress of the Year" and appeared on stage in London in „Beyond a Joke“. In her film career, she has worked with Portuguese master Manoel de Oliveira. What is more, she acted in the Canadian, UK film „It‘s all gone Pete Tong“ in 2004, which was nominated in eight categories and won the Best Canadian Feature at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival. She also acted in the film „Alice“ by Marco Martins, which won the prise of being "Best Film" in Cannes in 2005 and nomination for European Discovery of the Year. Now Beatriz Batarda is acting in the new film by Erik de Bruyn ‚Nadine‘.
